Experience
Nikki has over 25 years’ experience serving in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) where she held operational and Executive Leadership roles within Australia and Overseas. She also has over four years’ experience working with the Global Corporate, BAE Systems. Whilst serving in the Navy, Nikki was involved in the development of a long term leadership strategy for the RAN focusing on constructive and ethical leadership using the LSI and OCI/OEI tools, and subsequent facilitation of this program. As Senior Leadership Facilitator within BAE Systems, Nikki developed and delivered programs for middle and senior managers, as well as tailored programs for executive teams. As Lead Coach for BAE Systems, she was responsible for the development and delivery of a Coaching Framework, and managing an internal coaching capability of accredited coaches.
A major achievement for Nikki while working at BAE Systems was the development and facilitation of a highly successful executive leadership development program incorporating LSI 360 feedback, follow-on coaching, and Crucial Conversations. The success of the program led to interest from the BAE Systems Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) business, which resulted in Nikki delivering the program in Riyadh to Saudi National and Expatriate Senior Executives in 2016. Nikki is particularly interested in the impact of unconscious bias on decision making in the workplace, and this has been a recent research and program development focus. The concept was successfully trialled during her work with BAE Systems executives, resulting in a finalist award at the 2015 AHRI awards. This was also a major concept explored when Nikki facilitated Masterclasses for the Women in Emergency Services, Enforcement and Defence Leadership Summit in 2015 and 16.
An accomplished National hockey player in her younger years, and the coach of several successful Australian Defence Force sporting teams, Nikki maintains a keen interest in the sport and fitness industry. Nikki’s post graduate qualifications are in education, and she maintains a strong belief that leadership development and self-awareness during secondary and tertiary education is where real gains can be made.
Nikki enjoys spending quality time with her family, which includes camping weekends exploring the beautiful towns of northern Victorian and southern NSW, and the occasional holiday to the beach. She tries to keeps fit by running a couple of half marathons a year, and chasing after her two young children, Griffin and Dasha!
